Privacy Policy

This policy applies to all apps published by helptothetop (operated by Farrier Holding Limited): BabySteps, SpeedRead, Songbird, and BillMD.

1. Who We Are

helptothetop is a mobile app studio operated by Farrier Holding Limited. We build apps designed to help people in everyday life. When this policy says "we", "us", or "our", it refers to Farrier Holding Limited.

2. What Data We Collect

We follow a principle of minimal data collection. The specific data collected depends on the app:

Account Information (all apps)

  • Email address (when you create an account)
  • Display name (if you choose to provide one)
  • Authentication tokens for sign-in

BabySteps

  • Baby profiles (name, date of birth) that you create
  • Milestone tracking data and diary entries
  • Photos you upload for diary entries
  • Subscription and plan information

SpeedRead

  • Reading content you import (stored locally on your device)
  • Reading statistics (words per minute, sessions, streaks)
  • Subscription and plan information

Songbird

  • Child profiles (name, age, interests) used to generate personalised songs
  • Song preferences and playlist data
  • Subscription and plan information

BillMD

  • Medical bill images or data you submit for analysis (processed in memory, not stored permanently)
  • Analysis results and dispute letter drafts
  • Subscription and plan information

Anonymous Analytics (all apps)

  • Generic usage events (e.g. "screen viewed", "feature used")
  • App crash reports and performance data
  • Device type and operating system version

Analytics data is anonymised and aggregated. We do not track individual browsing activity or build advertising profiles.

3. How We Use Your Data

  • Provide the service: Deliver app features you use (tracking, reading, songs, bill analysis)
  • Improve our apps: Anonymous analytics help us understand which features are used and fix bugs
  • Customer support: Respond to your questions and resolve issues
  • Billing: Process subscriptions through Apple App Store or Google Play

We do not sell your data. We do not use your data for advertising. We do not share your data with data brokers.

4. AI Processing Disclosure

Some of our apps use third-party AI services to provide core features. Before any data is sent to an AI service, users are shown an in-app consent dialog explaining what data will be shared and must explicitly grant permission.

BillMD — Medical Bill Analysis

BillMD uses Google Gemini AI (provided by Google) to analyse medical bill images. When you submit a bill for analysis, the following process occurs:

  1. You take a photo or select an image of your medical bill from your device.
  2. The image is sent securely to Google Gemini AI via Firebase Cloud Functions for analysis.
  3. The AI processes the image in memory and returns the analysis results.
  4. The bill image is NOT permanently stored on any server — Google's or ours. It is processed in memory and discarded.
  5. Only anonymised metadata (e.g. estimated savings, number of findings) is retained to improve benchmarks.

Data sent to Google Gemini AI:

  • Your bill image or document
  • Visit details you provide (visit type, services received, insurance type)
  • Your state/location for regional pricing comparison

Data protections:

  • All transmissions are encrypted via TLS
  • Automatic PII redaction is applied before submission
  • Bill images are processed in memory only — never stored on any server
  • An explicit consent dialog is shown before any data is sent

Google's use of data transmitted via Gemini AI is governed by Google's privacy policy.

Songbird — Personalised Songs

Songbird uses Google Gemini AI to generate personalised song lyrics based on child profile information (name, age, interests) that you provide. This data is sent securely via Firebase Cloud Functions and is not permanently stored by Google as part of this service.

5. Third-Party Services

Our apps use the following third-party services to function:

  • Apple / Google: App distribution, in-app purchases, and push notifications
  • Supabase / Firebase: Secure cloud database and authentication
  • Mixpanel: Anonymous analytics (BabySteps)
  • Google AI (Gemini): AI-powered bill analysis in BillMD and song generation in Songbird. See Section 4 above for full details on what data is sent and how it is handled.

Each service has its own privacy policy. We only share the minimum data required for each service to function. We encourage you to review the privacy policies of these services.

6. Data Storage and Security

  • Data is encrypted in transit (TLS) and at rest
  • Authentication uses industry-standard protocols (OAuth 2.0)
  • Access to production systems is restricted to authorised personnel
  • We regularly review our security practices

7. Data Retention

We retain your data for as long as your account is active. If you delete your account, we will remove your personal data within 30 days. Anonymised analytics data may be retained indefinitely as it cannot be linked back to you.

8. Children's Privacy

Some of our apps (BabySteps, Songbird) involve data about children. This data is always entered and managed by a parent or guardian — we do not knowingly collect data directly from children. All child-related data is stored securely and is only accessible to the parent account that created it.

9. Your Rights

You have the right to:

  • Access your personal data
  • Correct inaccurate data
  • Delete your account and associated data
  • Export your data in a portable format
  • Withdraw consent for optional data processing

10. Cookies and Tracking

Our website uses no cookies or third-party trackers. Our mobile apps use anonymous analytics as described above. On iOS, we respect App Tracking Transparency — if you decline tracking, no analytics identifiers are collected.

11. Changes to This Policy

We may update this policy from time to time. When we do, we will update the "Last updated" date at the top. For significant changes, we will notify you through the app or by email.
